Hello everyone!
I hope you have all been well and happy. Today I will talk about the concept of rain, and how it links to some different things symbolically. If we look at the definition of the word “rain”, we get the next definitions for the word:
- noun
-water that is condensed from the aqueous vapor in the atmosphere and falls to earth in drops more than 0.02 inch (0.5 millimeters) in diameter.
-a rainfall, rainstorm, or shower:We had a light rain this afternoon. - verb (used without object)
-(of rain) to fall (usually used impersonally with it as subject):It rained all night.
-to fall like rain:Tears rained from their eyes. - verb (used with object)
-to send down in great quantities, as small pieces or objects: “People on rooftops rained confetti on the parade.“
-to offer, bestow, or give in great quantity: To rain favors upon a person.
I would take particially note of the last definition: “To offer, bestow, or give in great quantity. To rain favors upon a person.”
There are countless songs about the concept of rain and I think it many times is connected to the symbolism of some other outside force making favors “rain” upon a person. Good or bad but in great quantities.
Or like in the movies it feels like theres always something impactful happening before of after of scenes, where theres heavy rain. In music videos the symbolic counterpart to this meaning of rain could be moments in the videos where there’s money thrown in air and its “raining” on the artists. Or just singing in the heavy rain could be symbolic for that the artist or band “is getting blessings from above in great quantities” and succeeding well in a way.
So may the blessings rain over you all! Stay well everyone!
-Best wishes, Konsta
